The vision behind the first phase of Willowbrook is to create a truly sustainable community, with a range of social and community facilities within a walkable distance for new, and existing residents.

The facilities proposed at Willowbrook including the following:

• New local centre including shops and community facilities
• A new primary school with preschool education provision
• New park and ride facility promoting sustainable modes of travel
• A significant amount of green space has been incorporated into Willowbrook’s infrastructure, providing a range of outdoor leisure opportunities to residents and the wider community
• A network of cycle ways, footpaths connecting it to existing communities and the countryside beyond, including new links to Elms Park
• New planting and maintenance of Leigh Brook and hedgerow planting
• Formal and informal sports provision to complement the new facilities at Elms Park
• Sustainable drainage and water management to ensure no increased flood risk either on or off site and especially downstream of Willowbrook.

The proposed facility will compliment and integrate those being provided as part of the neighbouring Elms Park development which include a healthcare provision.
